Thomas H. Koyias of Parker, CO (formerly of Union, NJ), beloved father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, on October 4, 2025. He was 80 years old.

He is lovingly remembered by his children, Deana (Tony), Charles (Nektaroula), Kristian (Monique), and Alexia; his grandsons, Zach and Tyler; his niece, Eimie (Nick); his nephew, Greg; and his great-nephew, Adam.

Thomas was preceded in death by his parents, Haralambos and Gramatiki (née Machairas), and his brothers, Emmanuel (Katerina) and Nikolas.

Born in Edipsos (Evia), Greece, on September 23, 1945, Thomas carried the warmth, strength, and spirit of his homeland throughout his life. Known for his humor and friendliness, he had a rare ability to make everyone feel welcome and was blessed with the gift of gab. As a young man working in the shipping industry, he traveled the world and delighted in connecting with people of many cultures—often sharing a few words in their native language or recounting stories of places he had visited.

Thomas was a man of many talents and passions. A gifted carpenter, he could create anything with his hands and took great pride in his craft. He loved nature, tending to his garden, cooking delicious meals, and caring for his dogs. Curious and cultured, he spoke several languages, held a strong Greek Orthodox Christian faith, and never missed his morning cup of McDonald’s coffee. His energy was infectious, and his personality was larger than life.

He will be deeply missed by his family and all who knew him. His kindness, creativity, and generous heart leave a lasting legacy of love.

A funeral service will be held on October 18, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. at the Holy Church of the Dormition of the Virgin (Ιερός Ναός της Κοιμήσεως της Θεοτόκου) in Edipsos, Greece, where Thomas will be laid to rest in his beloved hometown.

May his memory be eternal.
