Sam C. Conis

Sam C. Conis, 87, of Morton Grove passed away on August 20, 2022 surrounded by his family. He was born in Greece on October 28, 1934 to Kostandinos and Vasiliki Konitopoulos. He was a lifelong machinist who retired in 1999 from Avon Products. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Alexandra; children, Dean (Sharon) Conis, Chris (Susan) Conis, Chris (Katherine) Baboulas; grandchildren, Christopher, Tina, Alec, Alena, Alexandra, Jimmy, Anna Maria; great grandchildren, Madeleine, Christopher, George; sister in Greece, Maria; and daughter-in-law, Kym Conis-Burgert. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, John; and former wife, Mary Palaskas. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America, 322 Eighth Avenue, 16th Floor, New York, NY 10001 or St. Haralambos Greek Orthodox Church, 7373 N. Caldwell Ave., Niles, IL 60714 Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 24, 2022 at 11:30AM at St. Haralambos Greek Orthodox Church. Interment will follow at Ridgewood Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4-8PM at Matz Funeral Home, 410 E. Rand Rd., Mount Prospect, IL 60056 and again on Wednesday at church from 11AM until the time of service.
