Roula Fildisis, 73, of Park Ridge passed away on December 12, 2025. She was born in Cefalonia, Greece on March 12, 1952 to the late George and Angeliki Garbis.
She cared deeply for her family and was very protective of her children. Especially, her first born son. She was a highly educated woman who came from Cefalonia, Greece and studied and earned a bachelor's degree at UIC. She spoke five languages. She held unique jobs working for the foreign affairs department at O’Hare airport. Then, Mayor Daily's office for the City of Chicago when she was a young girl.
She loved her faith and Greek Orthodox religion. Her faith drove her spirit in life to be humble and kind to others. She believed in God that he would save her from all evil from the world and shelter her. Roula's impact in life affected her family to teach them as long as you have each other you can get through anything in life. She taught her family to be kind and nice to people even when they do not deserve it and forgive people. She will be missed deeply and has left an imprint on her family that will live on into eternity.
Beloved wife of the late Konstantinos; Loving mother of Louis Fildisis and Illiana (George) Mellos; Devoted yiayia of Peter, Konstantinos and Stefanos Mellos.
Private interment will take place at Elmwood Cemetery.
