It is with deep sorrow and profound love that we announce the passing of our beloved Pipina N. Mousouroulis on August 21, 2025, at the age of 86, surrounded by her loving family. Pipina was born on May 16, 1939, in Karyes, Chios, Greece, to the late Nikolaos and Markela Kritikos. Pipina immigrated to the United States determined to make a better life for her family. A woman of great faith, strength, and determination, Pipina worked for 38 years at National Baking company.
She was a deeply devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her love for her family was boundless, and her home was always a place of warmth, love, and kindness. Determination and dedication to family were core elements of her identity. She was at her happiest baking, gardening, shopping, and decorating her home.
Pipina was preceded in death by her beloved husband, the late Nikolaos, and by her cherished daughter, Georgia (the late Petro). She is survived by her loving daughter, Irene (Peter), and her adoring grandchildren: Vallen (Demetra), Katie, Pamela (George), Stacy, and Niko. Pipina was also a proud and joyful great-grandmother to Nicolas, George, Eleftheria, Dionysios, and Melina. She was the cherished sister of the late Yianni (Marina), Toula (Theodori), Eleni (Tom), Maria (the late Stavros), Demetri (the late Demetra/ Rita), Dino, Kosta (Bessie). She will be greatly missed by many cousins, friends, and loved ones both in the United States and in Chios. Her legacy of love, faith, and dedication will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
A funeral service will be held in her honor on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Sophia Greek Orthodox Church, 525 Church Rd., Elgin, IL 60123. Interment will follow at Crystal Lake Memorial Park. Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation at the church, starting at 10:00 a.m., until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to a charity of your choice dedicated to helping children in Pipina's memory.
