Panagiota Zavos (née Manaves), age 93 of Norridge, Illinois, peacefully fell asleep in the Lord’s arms on January 21, 2026. Born to the late Anastasia and Vlasios Manaves on April 1, 1932, in Skoteini, Argos, Greece. Panagiota was the devoted wife of the late Constantinos Zavos. Loving mother of Tasos (Yiannoula) and Tom (Jodi). Proud and loving Yiayia to Patricia (Tony) Labellarte, M (Elijah) Zavos-Costales, and Dino (Kendall) Zavos. Cherished sister-in-law to Athanasia Manaves (late Kosta). Beloved aunt, great-aunt, relative, and friend to many in the US, Greece, Australia, and Canada.
Panagiota was preceded in death by her siblings George (Aglaia), Mathew (Penelope) Kosta, Panagiota, and Stamata.
Panagiota lived a full life, abundant with life’s simple blessings. She was deeply devoted to her faith, family, and friends. Her legacy is one of unparalleled kindness, generosity, and unconditional love. May her memory be eternal.
Visitation Tuesday, January 27 at Cumberland Chapels, 8300 W. Lawrence Ave in Norridge from 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm with Trisagion prayers at 6:30pm. Funeral services at 10:00 am on Wednesday, January 28 at Holy Taxiarhai and Saint Haralambos Greek Orthodox Church, 7373 N. Caldwell Ave in Niles. Interment will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in River Grove.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Greek American Rehabilitation & Care Center and the Holy Taxiarhai and Saint Haralambos Greek Orthodox Church would be greatly appreciated.
