Oscar Rolando Pagoaga Almendares

With profound sadness, we announce the passing of our beloved father, grandfather, and friend, Oscar Rolando Pagoaga Almendares, who left us on February 10, 2025. Born on December 29, 1947, Oscar dedicated his life to his family, his career, and his passions. A brilliant civil engineer with a master's in geology, he played a crucial role in Honduras' infrastructure, contributing to major electricity and water dam projects that continue to impact the country today. Beyond his professional achievements, Oscar had an enduring love for sports, especially soccer. His talent on the field was evident from a young age, and during his university years, he was a key player in leading Pumas de UNAH to the professional league-an accomplishment he carried with great pride. In 2021, he moved to the United States, but his heart always remained with the country and people he served. Oscar leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish his wisdom, strength, and warmth. He is survived by his children: Carolina Pagoaga, Oscar Pagoaga (Martha Cruz), Evelyn Pagoaga, Sara Garcia (Francisco Garcia), Pedro Pagoaga, and Kevin Amaya (Georgina Amaya). His legacy also lives on through his grandchildren: Karla Pagoaga, Mia Pagoaga, Daniel Suazo, Montserrat Pagoaga, Abby Pagoaga, Gael Pagoaga, Ella Garcia, and Ava Amaya. His memory will live on in the lives he touched and the stories shared by those who loved him. A service to honor and celebrate his life will be held at a later date.
