Nick J. Alex

Nick J Alex, 87 of Huntley passed away peacefully on August 3, 2026 surrounded by his family. He was born in Oak Park on February 26, 1939 to the late John and Bessie Alex. Nick is described by his family as genuine and authentic. He inspired those around him to be better people. He worked hard, played hard … loved to laugh and regularly wrote love letters to his wife of over 65 years. His kids knew that his love for their family was the motivation behind everything he did.

When he spoke to you, whether you were friend, family or even a stranger, you knew you were the most important person in the room. Heaven is richer for having him in it.

Beloved husband of Linda; Loving father of Beth (Jim) Flessor, John (Patricia) Alex, Nick (Kirsten) Alex; Cherished grandfather of Katherine (Rich), Wlostowski, Samantha, Jennifer, Lee, Nicholas, Jim, Matthew and Lauren; Adored great grandfather of Leo and Ila.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 8, 2026 from 9am-11am at St. Sophia Greek Orthodox Church, 525 Church Road, Elgin, IL 60123. Funeral services will be at 11am. Interment will follow at Elmwood Cemetery, River Grove.
