Laura Viviana Rodriguez Vazquez, age 44, entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior on August 3, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on April 22, 1982, Laura was a proud graduate of Round Lake Senior High School and spent her life pouring herself into the people God placed around her.
Laura was a wife to her husband, Sabino Vazquez, and a loving daughter to her father, Refugio Rodriguez. She was preceded in death by her mother, Maria De Jesus Costilla-Rodriguez, whom she now rejoins in glory. Laura also leaves behind her brothers, Gustavo A. Muñoz and Oscar R. Muñoz, and her sisters, Mayra Y. Nolan and Maribel Rodriguez along with many other brothers and sisters in her faith community whose names are too many to list, but whose love she cherished deeply.
Of all her earthly roles, Laura’s greatest joy was being a mother. She leaves a powerful legacy in her daughters: Vivianna Maria Sanchez, Zarahi Isuara Vazquez, Ruth Prisila Vazquez, and Ester Norma Vazquez. They were the center of her world, and she devoted her heart, her time, and her strength to loving, caring for, and guiding them. Her greatest “hobby” was not a pastime, but a calling: maintaining strong relationships with her friends and being present for her girls in every season of life.
Laura’s personality filled every room she entered. She was caring, charismatic, and impossible to forget. Nobody who met Laura V. Vazquez forgot about her, because her infectious smile and warm spirit left a mark that stayed long after the conversation ended. She had a way of making people feel seen, heard, and important, whether she was coordinating an event, checking in on a friend, or simply sharing a laugh.
As a member of New Hope Church, Laura lived out her Christian faith in practical, everyday ways. She loved deeply, served faithfully, and believed in the power of community, prayer, and hope. Her life testified to God’s grace through the way she treated others with kindness, compassion, and a genuine heart for reconciliation and unity. Laura had a great life and lived it to the fullest, not because it was always easy, but because she chose to meet each day with courage, faith, and love.
Though her earthly journey has ended, the impact of her life continues in every person she encouraged, every relationship she strengthened, and every memory her family now holds close.
In the midst of grief, her family and loved ones cling to the hope promised in Christ that this goodbye is not the end, but a pause before a greater reunion. Jesus said, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die,” John 11:25 and Laura’s family rests in that promise of eternal life, trusting that she now lives in the presence of the Lord, whole, at peace, and forever held in His love. We will always remember her infectious smile.
