Joseph E. Catanzaro, Sr.,80, of Des Plaines passed away peacefully on January 31, 2025 surrounded by his family. He was born in Chicago on June 4, 1944 to the late Carl and Virginia Catanzaro. Beloved wife of, Patricia; Devoted father of, Joseph, Jr. (Jennifer) Catanzaro and Lisa Beretta; Loving grandfather of, Adam, Michelle, Tiffany, Valerie, Britany, Sophia, Emma, Reaghan; Cherished great grandfather of, Madylin, Mason, Sean and Noah.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his two brothers.
Visitation will be held on Monday, February 3, 2025 from 4-8pm at Matz Mt. Prospect Funeral Chapel, 410 E. Rand Road, Mt. Prospect, IL 60056 and again on Tuesday from 8:30-9:30am before proceeding to church for mass.
A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, February 4, 2025 at 10am at Saint Stephen the Protomartyr Catholic Church, 1280 Prospect Ave., Des Plaines, IL 60018. Interment to follow at Mt. Auburn Cemetery, Stickney, IL.
