On Monday September 6th, 2021, Elizabeth “Liz” Pagan passed away and joined her mother, brothers, sisters and other family in heaven. Liz was born March 4th, 1952 to Edelmiro Pagan and Mariana (Torres) Pagan in Lares Puerto Rico. Liz grew up in Chicago where she established a life filled with generosity, love, humor and an energy that radiates, even after her passing, in each of her surviving family members. Liz was a huge sports fan and rooted for all the Chicago teams through their ups and many downs. She cheered each of the teams from the beginning of the season and throughout, no matter how they were doing. Liz was often seen wearing an item of sports memorabilia, announcing to all her fandom. Liz also enjoyed painting, especially later in life. She transferred meaning to colors and shapes, conveying in their abstractness the angles of her reality. Liz would spend time trying to put the colors and shapes together in a way that reflected something she felt needed to be revealed. Liz was preceded in death by her father, Edelmiro, mother, Mariana, sisters Gloria (Valderrama), Marbelia (Jimenez), brothers Joel (aka John), Eliezer (Liz’s twin), and Lirio. She is survived by her brother Edelmiro (aka Jim) and sister Gladys (Alvarado). Liz is also survived by many nephews, nieces, grand nephews, grand nieces, great nieces and great nephews, whom she loved dearly. A memorial service to celebrate Liz’s life is being planned for the evening of March 4th. More information will be provided as we near the date. Ravenswood Ave., Chicago, IL 60613
