Demetra G. "Toula" Koupas

Demetra Koupas, (“Toula”) age 92, fell asleep in the Lord on September 2, 2025. Devoted and Beloved wife of the late George T. Koupas. Loving mother of Thomas (Margo) Koupas and Peter (Georgia) Koupas. Proud Yiayia of George, Demetra, Thalia, Louis, Niko and Michael.

Toula was the heart of her family, dedicated to nurturing and caring for those she loved most. In 1957, she left her homeland of Panourgia, Greece, with her beloved husband George to build a new life in America.

A loving homemaker, she took great pride in her wonderful cooking and tending to her home and garden. She enjoyed knitting, creating beautiful handmade treasures that will be cherished for generations. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her adored grandchildren (her “Koupakia”), beaming with pride at every milestone.

Her legacy lives on through the love she shared and the countless memories she created. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

Visitation Thursday, September 4, 2025 from 4pm – 8pm at Salerno’s Rosedale, 450 W. Lake Street, Roselle, IL 60172. Funeral Service Friday, September 5, 2025 at 11am at Saint Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, 893 N. Church Road, Elmhurst, IL 60126. Interment to follow at Arlington Cemetery, Elmhurst, IL.
