Bob Kekatos

February 22, 1936 — June 10, 2026

Glenview, IL

Bob Kekatos passed away surrounded by the love of his family, leaving behind a legacy of strength, devotion, and unconditional love. Bob was the beloved husband of Spyridoula Kekatos; loving father of Ioanna Maria Kekatos (Michael Pinios), Demetra Siakavelis (Toli Siakavelis), and Valia Garbis (Dan Garbis); cherished grandfather of Petros Siakavelis, Spiridoula Siakavelis, Kiki Siakavelis, Anastasios Garbis (Nikoletta Garbis), Maria Garbis, Antigoni Garbis, and Elias Garbis; and proud great-grandfather of Dionisi Garbis and Chrysovalantou Garbis.

Bob embodied the American dream through hard work, determination, and sacrifice. Yet of all the roles he held throughout his life, his favorite was being a husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, and great-grandfather. His family was, and forever will be, his world. He was not only a father, but a best friend, a source of comfort, and the heart of his family. His love will remain with us forever, and we find peace in believing he is watching over us until we meet again. Bob found joy in life's simple pleasures. He loved watching Shark Week and his favorite movie, Sink the Bismarck. He enjoyed swimming, savoring Dunkin' coffee, Portillo's Italian beef sandwiches, psarosoupa, and pasta. He loved spending time in his backyard, wearing his collection of baseball hats, and making memories with the people he loved most.

Bob was truly the life of the party, bringing laughter, warmth, and joy wherever he went. Known for his positivity, kindness, and remarkable strength, Bob faced every medical hardship with courage and grace. No matter the challenge, he never stopped fighting and never lost the smile that brought comfort to those around him. His resilience inspired everyone who knew him. While his family mourns his loss, they take comfort in knowing that he is finally at peace, resting in his beloved Kefalonia, a place that always held a special place in his heart. Bob's greatest legacy lives on through his family, who will forever carry his love, values, stories, and spirit with them. He will be deeply missed, endlessly loved, and remembered always. In honor of Bob’s life, flowers are warmly welcomed. If you wish to send flowers, please advise the florist to deliver before services.
