Andrew J. Kandalepas, 70, of Schaumburg passed away on December 29, 2022. He was admired for his strong spirit, love of his family and roots, and was a constant source of guidance and strength. He was full of determination and ambition and had an electric energy that lit up every room he entered. Andrew’s bright light will continue to shine on through the lives of those he touched. Andrew leaves behind a legacy of love and compassion that will continue to inspire and guide his family and friends for many years to come. He was born in Kandyla, Greece on January 30, 1952 to the late Demetrios and Panagiota Kandalepas. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Xanthi; children, Patricia (Costa) Kokenes, Dimitri (Angela) Kandalepas; grandchild, Veneta Kokenes; siblings, Eleni (the late Spyros) Economou, Christos (Georgia) Kandalepas, Kyriakoula (Marinos) Loukas, Fotini (David) Geary; brother in law to, Aggeliki Kotoula, Panagioti Andrianopoulos, Maria Marinakos, the late Dimitri Andrianopoulos; and many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 4, 2023 at 9:30AM at St. John the Baptist Greek Orthodox Church, 2350 E. Dempster St., Des Plaines, IL 60616. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held at church from 9AM until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
